The presentation notes from Wednesday’s ratification meeting are now available in the OPSEU course shell in Blackboard (https://learn.nipissingu.ca) in the bargaining folder.
Please log into Blackboard using your Nipissing University credentials. If you cannot log into Blackboard, please contact UTS (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our members have voted to ratify the tentative agreement as presented.
Thank you once again to our bargaining team for all of your hard work!
Nicole Belair, a 33-year old Children’s Aid Society worker in Sudbury-Manitoulin and a member of OPSEU Local 668, died Tuesday after she was caught in an apartment fire while attending to a client of hers the previous day.
We ask that in honour of our fallen sister, all OPSEU members please wear black on Tuesday May 20th. Our thoughts and prayers are with Local 668, as well as with Nicole’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
The funeral will be held 11:30 am on Monday May 19 at St. Andrew’s United Church on Larch Street, not the R.J. Barnard Chapel at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home as indicated in an obituary in Thursday’s Sudbury Star. The change was made to accommodate the large number of people expected to attend. The church can hold about 500 compared to the chapel which can only seat about 200.
