On behalf of OPSEU’s Provincial Women’s Committee, OPSEU Local 608 is selling 16oz bags of Manomin Canadian wild rice for $10/bag.
All proceeds will go to the Fort Albany Women’s Shelter which operates a Fort Albany First Nation emergency shelter for women and their children.
Manomin Canadian Wild Rice is organically grown, freshly harvested and processed by the Ojibway of Wabigoon. Kagiwiosa Manomin, an Ojibway owned and operated cooperative is located at Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation in Northwestern Ontario.
Rice will be available outside of F213 on Friday March 7, 2014 before the IWW keynote speaker (1pm – 3pm). A special “thank you!” to Sal Renshaw of the Gender Equality and Social Justice department for helping our local sell the rice.
