The Fairness Express is headed to Region 6!

NUPGE’s Fairness Express will head through OPSEU Region 6 starting tomorrow, Friday June 6, 2014.

Friday June 6 – Visiting CUPE Local 4616 in Bonfield at 9:30 am, Photo op at Canadore College and Nipissing University (Time TBA), Manitoulin Blue Grass Festival from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Saturday June 7 – Sudbury OPS Bargaining Solidarity BBQ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm (Holiday Inn),  Sudbury Spartans Home opener vs The Soo Steelers 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Sunday June 8 – Family Solidarity Event 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in Timmins (Hollingsworth Park)

Monday June 9 – Rally at Montieth (Time TBA)

Tuesday June 10 – Day Off

Wednesday June 11 – Travelling to Sault Ste. Marie via Chapleau, Music in the Park 7:00pm (SSM Locks)

Thursday June 12 – Election Day! The “Big Green Bus” will be shuttling members to the polls.

Friday June 13 – Breakfast in Wawa, then the bus travels to White River to meet up with Region 7!

NUPGE Scholarship Program 2014

Each year, the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) offers four scholarships that reflect its pursuit of equal opportunity for all workers. They are open to the children of the National Union’s 340,000 members who are starting a post-secondary education.

Four awards of $1,500 given each year to children of NUPGE members (OPSEU is affiliated with NUPGE).

The deadline for applications is June 30, 2014.
